Nainital- Lakes all around (Explore more)

I am continuing my last post which was all about travel distance from Delhi(India) to Nainital(India). And if you missed it, just go to this link Nainital-Lakes all around.
       In the last post I told you how to reach Nainital from Delhi and other places. Now you are in Nainital city which has a beautiful lake surrounded by high mountains. Everything here is fresh and green. You will love this place, its beauty, evergreen forest on high mountains, lake & boats, Mall road and other tourist places.
So we will start with Mall road, Everyone would love to walk on Mall road. If its a summer time (May or June) the traffic will be closed for vehicles and this is the main attraction for all the tourists. Mall road starts from Tallitaal and ends at Mallitaal or you can say Mall road is the link joining Tallital and Mallitaal (for non kumaoni readers the one end of lake is called Tallitaal and the other end is called Mallitaal). Also you can take a Boat ride there are Paddle/Pedal boats , Sailboats, Riverboats and many more. Boats are easily accessible and will cost you around 180 full lake.

After you are done with Boat ride you can try Cable car or Ropeway which is also one of the main attraction of Nainital. This ropeway connects Nainital flats to Snow-view point.There are two trolleys to carry passengers.

You can have lots of fun at Snow-View point. you can see the Himalya range from telescope which will be provided by some vendors there, they will charge you fee for that. There are other high mountains where everyone would love to reach Like Camels back, Tiffin top, High altitude Zoo etc..
                 There is a Tibetan market where you would find Candles, Local fruits, clothes, shoes and many more eye catching stuffs and if you are food lover then there is Tibetan food for you specially Momos and Thukpa which are very delicious try them once.

Tifin Top:  Another place to visit in Nainital is Tiffin Top. A popular picnic spot and if you love capturing photographs this would be the best spot for you to capture all the scenic beauty of the hills.

Nainital- Lakes all around.

Today I am going to write about Nainital-A beautiful Hill station, Lakes all around. Nainital City is in Kumaon Region of uttarakhand.

How to Reach Nainital :  I will tell you the routes from Delhi(India).

You have to cover all the following areas to travel all the way from Delhi to Nainital.
Delhi-Ghaziabad-Moradabad-Rampur-Rudrapur-Haldwani-Kathgodam.
Time:             It will take 5-7 Hours to reach Kathgodam.
Distance:       265-300 km (Depend on Route)
By Bus:         You have to reach Anand Vihar Bus station-Book your Ticket and get in the Bus. Get down in Haldwani or Kathgodam and hire a Taxi or Local Bus to Nainital. It will take your 1hour-30min to reach Nainital.
By Train :      Ranikhet Express(mail/express) , Uttarakhand sampark kranti express(sampark  
                       kranti),Delhi Anad Vihar Terminal/ANVT kathgodam shatabdi express.From Kathgodam or Haldwani, Hire a Taxi or Local Bus to Nainital.
By Air:           Pantnagar Airport.The nearest airport to Kathgodam and Haldwani. 25kms from Haldwani.
 Taxis are easily available from Pantnagar to Haldwani. It will take your 30 minutes. Or if you hire a Taxi directly to Nainital it will take hardly 2hours.

Now the real Journey Starts. 1:30 hour journey toMountain roads. very exciting, amazing experience for those who never seen this before. Eyes wide open no words to describe the beauty of nature. Road trip you won't forget in your life.

In midway you would find many varieties of  flora & fauna you never have seen before. You are covered with the greenery all around.
After the whole journey of 1:30 hours -Doors opened "Way to Heaven". Time to enter Heaven. Fresh Lake in front of you. aroma of Nature. Big Mountains both the sides of Lake. a beautiful city, Descent people. No noise, no pollution,no traffic lights, no factories everthing just cool and calm.
Get down fast.Hold your camera start capturing the beauty. The only word that comes out first is WOW.

Book a nice Hotel for you, there are numbers of good Hotels in Nainital , book one that suits your budget.
Road on the Right side of Lake is for Vehicles and on the left side is for Walk named as Thandi Sadak.

DEHRADUN - Capital of Uttarakhand

Dehradun- The capital city of the state of uttarakhand. We have two regions in Uttarakhand i.e Kumaon and Garhwal. Dehradun is in Garhwal region. It is 236km(approx) from New Delhi.

The two regions include following places.
Garhwal :  This is the north western region of Uttarakhand. On the north it is bounded by Tibet, on east by Kumaon and on south by U.P. people here speak garhwali language.
It has following Districts :
  1. Dehradun
  2. Chamoli
  3. Haridwar
  4. Pauri Garhwal
  5. Rudraprayag
  6. Tehri Garhwal
  7. Uttarkashi

Kumaon :  This is the other region of the Uttarakhand, On the north it is bounded by Tibet, on east by Nepal and on south by U.P. Here people speak Kumaoni Language.

  2. Bageshwar
  3. Champawat
  4. Nainital
  5. Pithoragarh
  6. Udham Singh Nagar

1. Nainital : As we all know Nainital is one of the famous hill station of India.The High Court of Uttarakhand is also in Nainital. Nainital also has many well established schools like Sherwood, St. Joseph, Birla Vidya Mandir , St Mary's Convent also known as Ramnee, All Saints and many more.
          Naini Devi Temple:  The temple is located on the northern shore of Naini Lake. The Devi is represented by two Netras or Eyes. Nainital is believed to be one of the 64 Shaktipeeths. where one of the
body parts of Goddess Sati fell.

 2. Bhimtal Lake :  Guys this is the Biggest lake of Nainital district. This lake is 22km away from the Nainital city. We all know about 'BHIM' yes BHIM from Mahabharata, second brother of Pandava so the lake is named after the great BHIM. If you visit this place you would find an island in the middle of the lake.







 
2. Jageshwar Dham : This temple is located in the Almora district. A hindu pilgrimage town which is 36km away from Almora city. Temple is dedicated to lord shiva. It has 124 large & small stone temples.

Almora

Almora :-

It is located on a ridge at the southern edge of the Kumaon Hills of the Himalaya range. surrounded by thick forests of pine and fir trees. Almora got its name from "Kilmora" a short plant found nearby region.

Kasar Devi Temple:
A devi Temple. Swami Vivekananda visited Kasar Devi in 1890s.
